Dancing Penguin by Ayunda

School: Montem Primary School
Borough: Islington
Info: “The Ice Cap has melted and the penguin has come to London to join the buskers and street performers. He'll dance on top of his own column, raising money for endangered species affected by global warming.”
Ayunda wanted to address one of his most important concerns but also create an amusing antidote to the more austere figures, celebrating past battles, that adorn the other plinths in the square.
Ayunda envisioned the penguin to be animated, set dancing by the insertion of a pound coin in a slot, raising money for WWF.
Award: Borough Winner
